Oct. 2005 Walls of Jericho 

In October 2005, I joined a Land Trust hike to Alabama/Tennessee's Walls of Jericho.

Kim R had hiked this trail before, and told me it was a tough one, but this was my first visit.

Naturally, Denali joined me. She proved to be quite adept at climbing the rocks.

There were 13 of us altogether, including hike leader Mike Dalen (sitting, in the tan tee-shirt).

For the return trip, we elected to rock-hop along the creek bed instead of walk the narrow trail that ran parallel to the stream higher up the slope.

This was the only bit of the flat meadow we encounted. Shortly after crossing this campground, we forded Hurricane Creek and began the one mile, 1000' climb back to the trailhead.
